DEFORMABLE COVER, MANUFACTURING METHOD, AND ASSEMBLY COMPRISING A CONTAINER AND A DEFORMABLE COVER
The present invention relates to the field of lids capable of closing any type of container and making it possible to produce a stable stack of these containers, the invention also relates to a method of manufacturing said lids.
In the food sector, the current trend to limit the use of disposable containers contributes to an upsurge in the marketing of containers dedicated to the storage of food products, cleaning products ... These storage containers nevertheless have the disadvantage of leading to a noticeable clutter of spaces, furniture dedicated to the storage of these products.
In the food industry, this problem of container storage also exists. Indeed, many tasks require the use of buckets such as for example licking buckets containing mineral materials used to supplement animal feed. The storage of these stacked buckets also leads to congestion of the storage areas. In addition, to ensure stability of the stacks of buckets, food professionals often use infill boards. These boards generate additional costs and increase the size of the storage areas without always leading to satisfactory stability of the stacks of buckets.
Containers with lids have already been proposed which make it possible to improve the stability of the stacking of said containers. In particular the patent application CN 2434239 describes a pot whose body is tapered down and whose periphery of the upper part of the cover forms, by folding, edges. Said edges of the cover are folded back to form a resilient blade corresponding to a laterally compressible structure.
There remains a need for containers which can be stacked by forming stable stacks without the need to have recourse to elements ensuring the maintenance of said stacks such as for example intermediate boards.
In addition, saving space when storing containers is universally sought by manufacturers, intermediate sellers and users alike.
The present invention aims to meet these needs.
Thus, the authors of the present invention have implemented a cover intended to close a container, said cover comprising a middle part made of a rigid material,
BE2019 / 0055 an edge part made of a rigid material shaped to fit on the edge of the upper end of said container, said middle part and edge part being connected by a deployable part, preferably made of a flexible material. More particularly, the invention relates to a lid intended to come to close a container in the form of a bucket, said lid comprising a middle part made of a rigid material, an edge part made of a rigid material shaped to fit on the edge. from the upper end of said container, said middle part and edge part being connected by a deployable part made of a flexible material, the middle part of the cover being a disc and the edge part being a crown, said cover being such that the ratio between the maximum height of the deployable part and the diameter of the cover ranges from 1/10 to 1/4.
According to a second object, the present invention relates to an assembly comprising a container, preferably a bucket, and a cover capable of closing said container according to the invention.
According to a third object, the present invention also relates to a method of manufacturing said cover according to the invention.
Other objects, aspects, advantages, properties of the present invention are presented in the description which follows.
In this text, the terms “stack” and “stacking” are used interchangeably.
As already mentioned, the present invention relates to a cover intended to come to close a container, said cover comprising a middle part made of a rigid material, an edge part made of a rigid material shaped to come to fit on the edge of the upper end. of said container, said middle part and edge part being connected by a deployable part preferably made of a flexible material.
Said cover being arranged so that said middle part is movable from a rest position to a deployed position in which the middle part is spaced from the edge part.
According to the invention, the middle part is able to move from an initial position, at rest, to a deployed position under the effect of an external force applied to the upper face of said middle part, substantially according to a movement. of translation parallel to the main axis of the cover passing through the center of the middle part and extending
BE2019 / 0055 perpendicular to the main faces of the middle part. Of course, said external force must be sufficient to allow the displacement of the middle part.
When stacking a second container, preferably at least partially filled, on a first container equipped with a cover according to the invention, the middle part of said cover moves to its deployed position under the effect of the weight of the second container, in a translational movement towards the bottom of the first container.
Preferably, the deployable wall makes it possible to move the middle wall between its two positions, in a reversible manner.
According to one embodiment, the deployable wall resiliently biases the middle wall towards its rest position. In the absence of external forces applied to the middle wall, the middle wall automatically returns to the rest position.
The cover according to the invention advantageously makes it possible to form stacks of stable containers without it being necessary to have recourse to additional elements ensuring the maintenance of the stacks, such as for example intermediate boards. Indeed, in the deployed position, the middle part of the cover, the deployable part and the internal wall of the edge part form a space intended to receive the bottom of a second container so as to allow a particularly stable positioning of said second container. The stacks of containers thus formed, in particular buckets, can be stored in passage or handling areas. Under normal conditions of use of said passage or handling zones, the risks of falling buckets are low or even non-existent, in any event they are very reduced compared to the risks generated by stacking conventional buckets.
Another advantage of the present invention relates to the gain in space. Indeed, the cover according to the invention makes it possible to significantly reduce the height of the stacks of buckets. The use of lids according to the present invention allows a reduction in the total height of a stack of buckets of up to a third compared to the total height of a stack of buckets with conventional lids. The use of covers according to the present invention therefore allows a significant saving of space.
The middle part corresponds substantially to the part which covers the contents of the container.
BE2019 / 0055
The middle part is made of rigid material, preferably a thermoplastic polymer. The middle part should be strong enough to support a stack of full buckets. Generally the material in which the middle part is made is chosen from ethylene polymers and propylene polymers, such as polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP), preferably polypropylene (PP).
The border part is made of rigid material. The rim portion of the lid should be strong enough to remain attached to the edge of the upper end of the container when it is in position to support a stack of full buckets.
Advantageously, the rigid material in which the border part is formed is the same as the rigid material in which the middle part is formed, preferably the middle and border parts are formed with the same material. Generally the material in which the border part is made is chosen from ethylene polymers and propylene polymers, such as polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP), preferably polypropylene (PP).
The middle part and peripheral part of the cover are made of harder material (s) than the deployable part.
The deployable part is made of flexible material. The deployable part must be flexible enough to be folded and unfolded several times without damage. The deployable part must also be flexible enough to be able to support a stack of containers, in particular a stack of buckets, full for a period of a few months or even up to a year.
The flexible material in which the deployed part is formed is advantageously a thermoplastic elastomer (TPE).
According to a preferred variant of the invention, the middle part of the cover is a disc and the edge part is a crown, said cover then being intended to close a container in the form of a bucket.
When the container is a bucket of substantially circular cross section, the middle part is a disc with a diameter less than the diameter of the upper (free) end of the body of the bucket.
According to another preferred variant of the invention, the edge portion of the cover has a groove through which said cover is adapted to come to fit on the edge of the upper end of said container, said groove being of substantially shaped cross section.
BE2019 / 0055 de U comprising a vertical internal annular wall connected by a horizontal central wall to an external annular wall or rim, preferably said edge portion is formed of a crown having an annular groove.
Said external and internal walls, preferably annular, connected by the horizontal central wall form a groove directed downwards, that is to say towards the bottom of the container. Said groove is thus shaped to come to adapt, for example to be clipped, on the edge of the upper end, free of the container.
Advantageously, the vertical internal annular wall has ribs extending radially outward towards the external annular rim. These ribs are arranged at regular angular spaces, the edge of the upper end of the container being positioned between the internal face of the external annular rim and the ribs.
The lid thus formed is overflowing and makes it possible to pinch the upper part of the container and to ensure, if necessary, a tight closure.
Advantageously, one or more, preferably 2, 3 or 4, tongues are arranged on the external rim. They are advantageously arranged in the extension of the outer rim, that is to say downwards. This / these tab (s) make it easier to grip and detach the cover.
According to another preferred variant of the invention, the deployable part of the cover according to the invention comprises a bellows formed by at least two wall sections connected by a fold line.
Advantageously, the deployable part is formed of a bellows comprising at least three wall sections, preferably at least four wall sections, better still at least five wall sections, said sections being linked in pairs by a fold line.
When all of the wall sections - that is to say the bellows - is deployed, said assembly defines the maximum height of the deployable part.
The maximum height is defined during the manufacture of the lid, it is chosen according to the content of the bucket and more precisely according to the height of the content of the bucket. The height of the contents of the bucket is usually planned beforehand.
According to a preferred embodiment, the lower surface of the middle part is placed in contact with the top of the contents of the bucket. So the lower surface of the middle part is in
BE2019 / 0055 pressing on the contents of the bucket, which further advantageously increases the stability of the stack of full buckets.
Advantageously, the maximum height of the deployable part is less than or equal to one third of the height of the bucket.
According to another aspect of the invention, the ratio between the maximum height of the deployable part and the length of the cover ranges from 1/10 to 1/4, in particular when the cover is a disc, the ratio between the maximum height of the deployable part and the diameter of the cover goes from 1/10 to 1/4.
As already mentioned, a second object of the present invention relates to an assembly comprising a container and a cover capable of closing said container. Preferably, said container is a bucket.
The section of the container body can be of substantially square or rectangle shape, it can also be of substantially circular or oval section. Each container comprises a body whose upper end is free and the lower end is closed by a bottom.
The container has a free upper end with dimensions greater than those of its bottom, so that the containers can stack, the bottom of a container being able to be positioned, or even jammed, on the median wall of the lid of another container, the container having for example a frustoconical shape or a truncated pyramid shape with a rectangular base.
According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the container is a bucket of substantially circular section. Advantageously, the body of said bucket is of frustoconical shape, thus its free upper end defines a circle of diameter greater than the diameter of the circle defined by the lower end of the body.
Advantageously, the bucket can be provided with a handle, said handle allowing easier transport of the bucket.
According to a third object, the present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a cover according to the invention, said method being an injection molding method comprising at least the following two steps, in this order:
BE2019 / 0055
a first step during which the rigid material is injected into a part of a mold capable of forming the middle part and the edge part preferably at a temperature ranging from 180 to 220 ° C;
a second step during which the flexible material is injected into another part of said mold capable of forming the deployable part, preferably at a temperature ranging from 200 to 240 ° C.
Advantageously, the method of manufacturing the cover according to the invention is carried out by means of an injection press equipped with an injection mold comprising a fixed part, a mobile part, an ejection battery and a mobile core. The movable core is preferably a "metallic lock" corresponding to the deployable part of the cover, that is to say in the form of a bellows.
Generally, the mold is continuously cooled so that its temperature remains stable and constant during the plastic transformation process, in this case, it does not exceed about 30 ° C.
During the first step, the rigid material is injected into the mold equipped with said movable core generally at a temperature ranging from 180 to 220 ° C, preferably about 200 ° C.
Advantageously, the injection is carried out under pressure in order to avoid any phenomenon of withdrawal of the material. The withdrawal of the material could indeed lead to the creation of defects, cracks in the parts of the cover formed from said rigid material.
At the end of this first step, the rigid material takes the shape of the middle and border parts and solidifies during the cooling phase.
During the second step, the flexible material is injected into the mold, the movable part of which has been opened, generally at a temperature ranging from 200 to 240 ° C, preferably around 220 ° C.
At the end of this second step, the flexible material on cooling adopts the "bellows" shape of the movable part of the mold, and solidifies during the cooling phase.
Advantageously, the rigid material is chosen from ethylene polymers and propylene polymers.
BE2019 / 0055
Advantageously, the flexible material is chosen from thermoplastic elastomers (TPE).
For example, the cover is obtained by injection molding, with in a first step the injection of a polyethylene (PE) or polypropylene (PP) to form the middle part and the edge part, then the injection a thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) to form the deployable part.
It falls within the general competence of those skilled in the art to adapt the injection temperatures of the stages as a function of the melting temperature of the rigid and flexible materials chosen.
